Facebook Hacked

It has been 9 months since my last password change on Facebook.

Got a couple of messages from Supposedly Facebook at 3.45am and then 4.02am.

When I do login, I usually get an email telling me that I have logged in from a particular device that I am familiar with, but not this time.

The messages says,  If this wasn't you, please follow the link below to protect your Facebook account information. https://www.facebook.com.checkpoint/checkpointme?u=(lots of numbers)

After the second email and not really knowing how to report this, I when to home then help, then report abuse or policy violations, then secure hacked account, then my account, then my account is hacked, then secure it here. (what an absolute mess).

Easiest way type www.facebook.com/hacked will take you to the same place.

Or just change your password :  home, account settings, password and change your password.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Installation

I thought It was time to give windows 8 a go, but I didn't want to install over my current windows 7 version.

First you need to go to :  http://tinyurl.com/6r73prb and downloaded Techlife Windows 8 Maker.

Install it.

It should look like this when done.

You will need to download both Windows8.Iso and VMware Player 4.

You can do this by clicking on the Click here on the Techlife Machine Maker application.

Once downloaded, install VMware, then click on "Find Windows 8 Iso image".

Choose the location of the Iso image you downloaded earlier, then click on Create And Launch Machine.

This will bring up a location window,choose where you would like to save the files.

I chose my documents, you will need at least 25gig space.

VMware player will start automatically, click on yes for VMware agreement.

Click next,then click on Install now.

Tick the box, I accept the license terms.

I clicked on custom install.

Click next.

VMware computer restarts

Enter a PC name then click next.

I clicked on Use Express Settings

Enter your email address.

Enter a password, click next.

I clicked on next.

Blogger Will Not Save Images

You can upload your images but cant save them.

I am using Internet explorer 9.

Go to Tools, Internet options, Privacy.

Slide security settings down to Medium High.

Now unfortunately you will need to go back to edit posts and leave that page.

You will probably loose what you have on the page, so try to save any text into a text file first.

Now when you save you will not receive this error.

I like to have my Privacy security settings up quite high but when I blog I have to reduce this to medium high.

I have tried to add blogger.com to the Privacy "sites" allow list, but I still cannot save images.

Folder.Jpg Hidden

My Folder.jpg images are hidden or not highlighted, the culprit of wmp12 in my case.

I suspect that windows media player settings  are to blame.

Run windows media player, go to tools then options, then under player, library and privacy untick everything.

I will keep you informed as to whether media player still hides these files even though these settings are not selected.

To fix your current collection and return those folder.jpg back to normal and remove all hidden or system attributes from folder.jpg see below.

Go to Start, then in the search, key in cmd.exe.

Now type the destination of your music.

So the default location is c:\users\yourusername>

My music is in this directory e:/music.

So I typed e:

e:\> will display on the screen

now type cd music

e:\music> will display on the screen

Now type attrib -h -s folder.jpg /s

Should look something like this

e:\music>attrib -h -s folder.jpg /s

This may take some time depending on your collection so be patient

ATDMT Tracking Cookie Avg

Not happy SAM

Are you sick of getting those third party cookies, Avg 2012 prompts you after you open Internet explorer.

It looks like this.

Go to tools, Internet Option, Privacy and increase your security to high to eliminate those third party cookies.

Now go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy, Sites.

Enter atdmt.com and any other site you want to block.

Convert Png To Icon

Select Png file from pc, on the right hand side click on the arrow, it should download the newly converted icon.

This will only convert png to ico.
