Nvidia Desktop Manager

I could not find the Nvidia desktop manager on the pc and couldn't find where to download it either.

Just reinstall the latest driver for your videocard and it will automatically install Nvidia Control Panel into your system tray.

To find your video card model click on Start, then Control Panel, then Device Manager click on display adapter, you will now see your model.

Create Virus Scanner Cd

Want to create Bootable multiple Virus cd

Click on the blue download button on the right, if the download does start right click and select download.

On the left hand side check that the download is working

In some cases I found that once the download finished the ISO needed to be renamed to the default name so that the program could recognize it.

Just hover over the file to see the name it should be renamed to.

Make sure you have set the ISO folder as all the ISO need to be in this folder

C:\SARDU_3\ISO

Click on Download then Select ISO Folder

Once all files are downloaded click on USB then Create USB

Make sure you have your USB plugged in

Install Shardu, look inside the installation folder you will find a folder named ISO.
Copy all the Programs/Virus Iso's into this folder.
Run the Sardu.exe file then on the right press the CD or the Usb stick.
It will take a while to create the necessary file.

Wake On Lan Local Tool Multiple PC's

You forgot to turn on a second PC at home.

Remote desktop into the primary PC then use this tool to turn on any other local PC.

To use the tool turn on all the PCs run WakeMeOnLan.exe then press the green scan icon.

This will display all the PC that are on your network.

You must turn on wake on lan on your network card.

Run windows explorer, right click on Network, then Properties, Change Adapter Settings, right click on local area connection, then Properties.

Under connect using: click on Configure..., do you wish to proceed, click yes, under the Power Management column, select all three.

1)Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
2)Allow this device to wake up the computer
3)only allow magic packet to wake up the computer.

CD Rom Will Not Show In Xp

The customer complained that the CD rom was not working

In device manager I could see a yellow exclamation on the CD rom drive in device manager.

I tried to uninstall then reinstall the drivers, but I still could not see the CD rom in My Computer.

There was two instances of the floppy disc drive as well.

I suspect someone has accidentally installed the floppy disk driver as a CD rom driver.

Even though I uninstalled and rebooted the Pc, it still seemed to install the wrong driver.

Fix

Click on Start then in the search type Run.
Click on run, type regedit, then ok
Go to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318
I clicked on that folder and deleted everything in that folder.
Closed regedit then rebooted.
Once rebooted the CD rom installed iteself and the CD rom appeared in my computer, and yes there was only one Floppy disk drive after that.

Restart In Safe Mode

F8 is the common method.

If you press and hold f8 just after the PC starts when you hear the first beep but before windows starts you will get an option to choose Safe mode.

The only thing you may miss it, this all happens so quickly.

The easiest way to reboot to safe mode is to use the msconfig.exe method.

Go to start then in the search type msconfig.exe click on msconfig.exe file.

Choose the Boot tab.

Under Safe Options, tick Safe Boot.

Click of then reboot the PC.

The computer will automatically boot in safe mode.

To return to normal startup, go to msconfig.exe in safe mode.

This time on the General tab, tick Normal Startup.

Click ok then reboot.
