Snappy Driver Installer

Snappy Driver Installer is a free tool that helps you keep your computer’s drivers up to date. Drivers are the small programs that allow your hardware—like your graphics card, sound card, or network adapter—to work properly with Windows.

If your drivers are outdated or missing, you might notice problems such as slow performance, no sound, network issues, or even crashes. Snappy Driver Installer scans your system, finds the right drivers, and lets you install them quickly and easily.

It’s especially handy because it can work without an internet connection if you download the full driver packs. That means you can update drivers on multiple PCs, even if they’re offline.

👉 You can download Snappy Driver Installer here: https://sdi-tool.org/download/

Why Windows File Transfers Slow Down and How to Fix It

Have you ever tried transferring files between PCs on a network, only to watch the speed drop to zero or crawl at an agonizingly slow pace? It’s frustrating..

Recently, I encountered this issue while moving files between two networked Windows PCs. After some troubleshooting, I found that mixed RAM capacities in the system played a role, but there were also network-related factors slowing things down. Here’s what I learned and how you can fix similar issues.

Check Your RAM Configuration

One of the first things I did was run a memory test. While the test showed the RAM was functioning correctly, I noticed something unusual—two of the RAM sticks were 2GB each, while the other two were 8GB each.

Why is this a problem?

  • Mixing different RAM capacities forces the system to run at the speed of the slowest module.

  • This can impact overall performance, including network file transfers.

For optimal performance, it’s best to use RAM sticks with the same capacity and speed.

Mixing RAM modules of different sizes, like 2GB and 8GB, is possible but may not provide the best performance.

Many modern motherboards support dual-channel memory, which boosts speed by running paired RAM sticks together. However, when using different capacities, only the matching portion operates in dual-channel mode, while the remaining memory runs in single-channel mode.

Although this setup works, it can reduce the benefits of dual-channel performance and may slightly impact system stability. The motherboard has to manage the memory asymmetry, which can lead to less efficient performance overall.

By removing the 2GB sticks it resolved the issue, restoring transfer speeds to normal in my case.

Setting Up Bitvision NVR And App

Before we can add a device to the phone we need to make sure the NVR is online (on the Net).

From The NVR

Using the mouse Login to the NVR:  The default user is : admin and password is 12345

Then make your way to

Or From Microsoft Edge Browser

This can be daunting as web browsers have too much security and it may take some time to get it to work but follow along if you can.

Use Microsoft Edge as Chrome is not a well supported I found

Type the IP address into the NVR : if you’re not sure on how to find your IP address of the NVR you can either find it in the Network settings of the NVR or you can use the Bitvision search tool.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tpuc1ebleopwbvk/SearchTool%20for%20WIN_V1.5.1.230221_R1.exe?dl=0

After installing the Search tool run it. As you can see my IP address is 192.168.0.244

Once you know your IP address type it into the browser (don’t use this IP address use yours) mine is http://192.168.0.244/login.html

Type in your username and password and if you haven’t changed yours yet (Please do) default is admin and password is 12345

Once logged in it should look something like this unless you have different firmware.

Make your way to Configuration then Network then P2P, P2P must be ticked (enabled) and your status must say Online, if it does your good to go no port forwarding necessary (you only need to port forward if you have changed the HTTP port to something else besides the default (80) in Network settings.

The below screen shot may be slightly different to yours, you may have the QR codes one for Android, IOS and serial Number or combined like this one.

Default ports listed below – Your IP address and gateway will match your configuration

Your gateway is of course you Modem IP address – In my case my modem is on a 0 Dot network so the NVR is on the same 0 Dot network.

Time to install the app

Scan the Android/IOS QR code in the Configuration /System/Network/P2P screen or using you mobile search for Bitvision in the app store.

Must register an email address to the app.

From the left hand panel select “Device manage” then click (add +) then SN Add(recommended)

From the NVR go to network then P2p and scan the Serial QR code or from web browser go to Configuration /System/Network/P2P screen and scan Serial QR code

Microsoft Edge Browser Support For Dahua, Hikvision And More

Using Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer Mode is the best option as Chrome is not always compatible.

First open Microsoft Edge then type the IP address of the camera in my case 192.168.0.204.

It came back with this error message:  http://192.168.0.204/notSupported.asp

You will need to enable Internet explorer mode in Microsoft Edge

Click on the "three dots" in the top right then scroll down till you find "Reload in Internet Explorer mode".

If you get the below dialog box, enable "Open this page in Compatibility view" and "Open this page in Internet Explorer Mode", then click "Manage" Do not click done, Yet.

Here is where you add all the cameras IP addresses click "Add"

As you can see, I have added quite a few cameras. you must include the Http://

If you need to get back to this page to add more cameras you only need to go the "three dots" in the top right, then go to "Settings" then "Default Browser."

Now log into your camera in my case it was http://192.168.0.204 and make sure you don't add the
/notSupported.asp only http://192.168.0.204
Also, don't be tempted to click on the "Open in Microsoft Edge" otherwise you will undo all the work you've done, this message will only come up when you are viewing your cameras anyway.

How Long Does Gas Last On My Barbecue

The lifespan of the gas in your barbecue depends on several factors, including the size of the gas tank, how often you use the barbecue, and how well the gas tank is sealed. In general, a standard 20-pound propane tank will last for around 18-20 hours when used on a medium setting on a gas grill. However, if you use the barbecue frequently, the gas will likely run out more quickly.

There are a few things you can do to extend the lifespan of the gas in your barbecue:

Make sure the gas tank is properly sealed: If the gas tank has any leaks, the gas will escape more quickly.

Use the barbecue at a lower setting: The higher the heat, the more gas your barbecue will use.

Close the lid: When you're cooking on a gas grill, try to keep the lid closed as much as possible. This will help to retain heat and reduce the amount of gas used.

Keep the barbecue clean: A dirty barbecue can use more gas, as it has to work harder to maintain the desired temperature.

Store the gas tank properly: When you're not using the barbecue, make sure to store the gas tank in a cool, dry place. This will help to prevent leaks and extend the lifespan of the gas.

Unique Memorable Gmail Domain Name

If you're looking for a unique and memorable Gmail domain name, here are a few tips that might help:

Make it personal: Use your own name or initials as the basis for the domain name. This can make it easy for people to remember and differentiate your email from others.

Use a combination of words: Create a domain name by combining two or more words that are relevant to you or your business. For example, if you're a graphic designer, you might consider using words like "graphic," "design," or "creative" in your domain name.

Get creative: Use your imagination to come up with a unique and memorable domain name. This can be a fun way to express your personality and stand out from the crowd.

Keep it short and simple: A shorter domain name is easier to remember and type, so try to keep it as concise as possible. Avoid using complex words or phrases, and try to stick to simple, straightforward language.

Windows Audio Has A Red X In System Tray

Every time you turn the computer on, a red X appears on the Windows Audio speaker

If you click on the icon the troubleshooter will solve the issue, but you would need to do this every time.

You need to check if the windows Audio Service is started, so before you click on the speaker icon
Go to Start, then type services, double click on the services.

Double click on Windows Audio

As you can see from the below picture that the Windows Audio Service is on Automatic but has failed to start.

If the audio icon in the system tray of your Windows computer has a red "X" on it, it means that there is a problem with the audio system. This could be caused by a variety of issues, such as a conflict with the audio driver, a problem with the audio hardware, or a problem with the audio settings.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

  1. Restart your computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix problems with the audio system.

  2. Check your audio hardware: Make sure that your speakers or headphones are properly connected to your computer, and check for any visible damage.

  3. Check the audio driver: Right-click on the audio icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices." This will open the Sound control panel. Click on the "Properties" button for your default audio device and then click on the "Driver" tab. Make sure that the driver is up to date and not disabled.

  4. Check the audio settings: In the Sound control panel, click on the "Communications" tab and make sure that the "Do nothing" option is selected. This will prevent Windows from automatically muting the audio when it detects that you are using a communication application.

  5. Check for malware: Run a malware scan to make sure that your computer is not infected with any malicious software that could be causing problems with the audio system.
