I had a WD portable hard drive that would take some time to come up in device manager after it would lock up the PC for quite while and would not recognize it in disk management, I tried many programs like find an mount, WD format utility, recovery software and the only one that would work and read the drive was EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. I Paid for full version and recovered the customers documents, photos movies etc - worth every cent Highly recommend and no I'm not getting paid to say this, when your drive totally fails I mean totally fails to load try this software. Has trial period.
