Yawcam Please Reinstall The Application

See my other post : https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7718950093526274616#editor/target=post;postID=3904564761464472986;onPublishedMenu=allposts;onClosedMenu=allposts;postNum=0;src=postname

******************************************************************************

After you install the application then try to run it you get (please reinstall the application) error.

I tried to uninstall, reinstall, update java still had the error.

Fix:

Windows 7, Go to Start, then Right click on Computer, then Properties, Then Advanced System Settings, then click on Environment Variables.

On my Pc under user variables, I had nothing showing in Path, so I went looking for Java .exe.

I found this at C:\Program Files\Java

I had 2 folders 1st jre6 and the other jre7

I copied the jre7 location into the path variable

So it looked like C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin

I then tried to run yawcam again but it didnt work.

So I then tried C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin

Ran again and the program loaded fine

Hope this helps.

Unformat HardDrive

Ever accidental formatted the wrong drive.
You can spend hours trialling different NTFS or FAT recovery software only to be disappointed to find that it was a trial version and only a few files could be recovered without purchasing the full version.
You then have to spend hours sorting through all the mambo jumbo of files.
By now I expected to find a recovery program that just recovered the files as they were on the drive.
Well I tried quite a few trial versions and was just that, disappointed.

Usually if the partition is lost or damaged and not reformatted I use Find And Mount : http://findandmount.com/ this is the quickest way to recover the files.

The drive will recover the partition and all the files reappear as they were on the drive before the partition was damaged.

This is only a temporary fix, you then need to copy all the files over to another drive, then you can format the drive again

If the drive was formatted, you will need some recovery software.

Here is a couple I found that worked well.

1st try DMDE : http://softdm.com/ : this was very cheap and it just works.
I chose NFTS then clicked search, within seconds I had a list of my files as they were in folders
I ticked the folders I wanted to recover and that was it.: Magnificent and cheap piece of software.

Works but the files were all in a list and it was recovering every file before my eye but it wasn't in folders, and that's what I was trying to achieve.

Dial Tone Short Pulses New Telstra Bundle

A friend recently connected a new land line phone and Internet bundle.

Once the modem was delivered he ran the CD and followed all instructions, the Internet was up and going within minutes.

It also came with a card which gave him the preconfigures WiFi password.

Next it was time to test phone line.

The phone had white noise coming from the handset.

I asked him if he had other phones in the house, he did and discovered that it did not have a phone filter installed.

He installed another phone filter on the other line and the white noise was gone.

Next he tested the phone but noticed the dial tone was not right, he heard short pulses on the line.

I told him that he needed to disable message bank.

He rang Telstra and they said it would take a week.

This by default should have been switched off, if not the salesman should have asked the question.

This whole process of organizing a new connection etc took long enough as it was, without having to ring back and spend more time on the phone to resolve.

Hopefully someone from Telstra is reading this and stops silly mistakes like this.

If you are not going to setup message bank for the customer then disable it.
