Hyperlink In Outlook Prompts You Every Time

A friend of mine was trying to open a hyperlink email he received in Microsoft Outlook, when he clicked on "always use this app" it would still prompt him again then next time.

I reset all internet explorer options and rebooted but this did not help, the only thing I could do was open it in Microsoft edge every time.

Fix

Download outlook-ie-opennew.zip

Unpack or unzip the zip file, open the outlook-ie-opennew folder, then right click on outlook-ie-opennew.reg, then click Merge.

https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/q1-16/outlook-ie-opennew.zip

Worked a treat.

Yumi Multiboot Usb Creator

You can create a multi-boot USB drive test tool with Antivirus tools, utils, Diagnostic tools and operating systems just to name a few

Run YUMI-2.0.5.3.exe then click Agree

Select Distribution, in my case Ubuntu, click browse to search your folders for ubuntu iso

Press Create, after this has completed it will ask you if you want to add more.

You can always come back and run YUMI-2.0.5.3.exe at a later date and add another more distributions.

To remove an ISO distribution select "View or Remove Installed Distros" then select distribution to remove then click remove.

If you would like to add DLC-boot iso to your Yumi Multi-boot and cant find it in your Distribution list, you can add it manually by selecting Try Unlisted ISO (GRUB) then browse for it to add.

Once your happy with your Yumi Multiboot USB you can make an ISO backup or duplicate the USB by using win32diskimager-1.0.0-install.exe : https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/latest/download?source=files

Test an ISO using QEMU Simple Boot : http://www.sordum.org/7763/qemu-simple-boot-v1-3/

Troubleshooting Network Issues

It allows you to briefly or continuously monitor network issues and collect data over a period of time.

PingPlotter : https://www.pingplotter.com/download

In this example I typed www.google.com.au into the search then clicked start, then changed the interval to 5 minutes and let it run for 10 minutes.

You can see that the below trace shows you the stops along the way, starting from my Router.

My Router 192.168.1.1
Then My Modem 192.168.2.2
then to my ISP then DNS servers, then eventually Google.
So after the first two being my house there were 9 hops / servers before eventually reaching google   (this is quite normal) average round trip was 32.2ms.

In this example I typed www.facebook.com into the search then clicked start, then changed the interval to 5 minutes and let it run for 10 minutes.

You can see that the below trace shows you the stops along the way, starting from my Router.

My Router 192.168.1.1
Then My Modem 192.168.2.2
then to my ISP then DNS servers, then eventually Facebook.
So after the first two being my house there were 9 hops / servers before eventually reaching Facebook.  Average round trip was 29.7ms.

In this example I typed www.anz.com into the search then clicked start, then changed the interval to 5 minutes and let it run for 10 minutes.

You can see that the below trace shows you the stops along the way, starting from my Router.

My Router 192.168.1.1
Then My Modem 192.168.2.2
then to my ISP then DNS servers, then eventually Anz.
So after the first two being my house there were 9 hops / servers before eventually reaching Anz.

As you can see all seemed to be OK until it reached ANZ but Anz.com refused the ping request (100%packet loss)

This is also is common as some sites do not allow you to ping their sites.

You can now export the data collected by clicking on File, then "export sample set" or just save and image.

Great tool for diagnosing your internet or network issues by collecting data that may help your ISP or computer technician to help diagnose network problems.

The free version seemed to do enough for me but you could purchase a Professional version.

The Professional version compare features : https://www.pingplotter.com/products/features.html

Getting started pingplotter :https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=97&v=vTWsRrfJnEY

Doing the trace route through Dos

Windows 7 : Go to Start, Type cmd, right click on cmd.exe, run as administrator, click yes.

From the command prompt type tracert google.com

What's Taking Up Diskspace

WinDirStat : https://windirstat.net/download.html

Allows you to quickly see at a glance what is using all your disk space.

Run WinDirStat then select the drive or drives to be tested, click OK.

Will take a little while for the colorful Treemap to display if enabled.

TreeSize : http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

Similar to WinDirStat but without the colorful graphical Treemap

Videocard Stress Test

http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

Hikvision Default IP Address

The default IP address for my Hikvision DS-2SC2142FWD-I was 192.168.1.64

Use SADP tool to detect the camera and change it.

In this example I have clicked on the first camera, as you can see the parameters for the camera are on the right.

You can now change the default IP address and or port to one that matches your network.

In my case computers are on the default network of 192.168.2. ... network so the first camera I placed was on 192.168.2.100

Place the camera on a high IP address so to not interfere with the DHCP IP addresses given to your equipment by your modem.

Your modem will accept a range from 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.2.254 usually you don't use the first few or the last few IP addresses as these are often used by the modem.

Other IP Eg. 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.2.254  or 192.168.3.1-192.168.3.254 or 10.0.0.1-10.0.0.254

As you can see I have also changed the default Http port to 4000 on the first camera so that way I can port forward this in my modem instead of the usual port 80.

Most people will leave this as port 80

My Billion modem I have 2 areas to port forward one called Security / IP filtering incoming and the other Nat / Virtual servers.

To access the cameras locally through you web browser I would enter http://192.168.2.100:4000

The Port 2000 is for the IVMS-4500 app

The the address field enter your Static Wan IP not your local IP address eg 192.168.2.100 as the app will only work locally. When you enter the Wan IP address the app will work remotely and locally.
