Can't Sign In - Temporary Profile Issue

WARNING ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED USER

CHANGING THE REGISTRY CAN LEAD TO DATA LOSS OR YOUR COMPUTER FAILING TO BOOT

First lets backup the registry

To do this go to Search and type regedit, click Run as administrator , then Yes when prompted

In Regedit, click file then Export, then name your backup, then press save

Now that the backup is done lets move on

Windows will automatically create a temporary profile when a profile becomes corrupted so you will need to delete this profile so you can log back in with the original profile.

In regedit make your way to

to "KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList"

The profile key ending in bak highlighted Blue is the original profile.

Delete the one above this highlighted Red named the same but without the .bak extension.

Now remove the ".bak" from the bottom key.

This will allow your computer to reboot using the correct user profile.
