Error check : Right click on your local (c:) drive in windows explorer and under error checking click on check now.

It will probably ask you to schedule this for the next bootup.

Re start the Pc and the error checking will begin.

Drive Name Will Not Rename

You right click on the drive to change the drive label , but the drive label will not rename.
In Disk Management it shows the the new name, but in My Computer the drive label will not change.

Fix
I had a hidden File which I created to stop autorun.inf and recycler file being created on the drive.
I deleted them, renamed the drive, safely removed drive, re-connected drive, rename worked.
